i opened RŪNA in september, 2019 as a French(ish) bistro. six months later, covid hit and i was forced to close. i made by with pop up events and a few non food related events. anything to keep going. i reopened in jan 2021 on a limited basis as a one woman show and home schooling my kids to here and now, where I am grateful to be working with the most awesome team, offering lunch and dinner. things are different these days, there’s a new perspective on my business and family, and i am trying to maintain the balance of that tight rope of owning a restaurant and taking care of that said family. i now lead in the kitchen, when before, i was front of house when i first opened. i can hand on heart say it is truly enjoyable and rewarding working in the kitchen, but at the same time truly exhausting. RŪNA is in its origin a french(ish) bistro but I decided to change things up a little. you are going to see a distinct influence of Bengali indo. I was born in bangladesh and my father is Bengali. this part of my culture is integral to who I am, so why not show my love to y’all how i know best. you will also see north african, basque, vietnamese, as well as of course FRENCH fare. I appreciate you stopping by, giving us a chance and hope to welcome you back again and again.
